Mt. Tam Guide Dogs Website!

It's been three weeks since Don left now. I miss having a pup in the house! Recall wasn't easy, but I knew Don was ready for the next step. He was so excited when he got there, which helped. I think he's having a good time at GDB :) He's still in phase 0, as of last week. I was starting to get worried, but apparently how the timing worked out with the number of instructors, he just wasn't able to get assigned to a string. My leader said he should be assigned an instructor by this week- I guess I'll find out when we get the phase report today.

My school has Veterans day off today, so I got to spend the whole morning finishing the website I made for the Mt. Tam Guide Dogs Puppy Raising Club. I started in a long time ago, in summer, and I hadn't had the chance to work on it for awhile. I think it turned out pretty well. The address is http://mttamguidedogs.yolastie.com/ I'd love it if you would check it out and tell me what you think!

Sorry I haven't been getting around to any blogs lately! I'm looking forward to getting back to blogging. I'm going to be doing some puppysitting until I can get back to raising. Hope everyone is doing well!

  1. Good luck to you and your pup!

Nice website, very simple and easy to navigate! Wish my local puppy club had something cool. They just have a blog with upcoming meetings. Boring! ;)

  5. Wonderful website. :)

Just one thing. Lancer has more sibling than just Larissa. :) Laddie, Lang, Lipton, Lorie, and Lucette.

Laddie, Lipton, and Lucette (and of course Larissa but you knew that) are all guides now. And they're all yellow labs. :)

  6. Great website!! Definitely very easy to navigate. And it's great to see what's going on with the group. I really like the layout! The photos load fast and they are very sharp. However, the text seems to be running off the page on the current pups page; just thought you should know :).

  7. Elijah and Dembre, Yes, I'm going to raise another pup- I'm just trying to figure out when the best time would be to get a new dog. I liked getting Don in summer when I had a lot of time to work with him... but that seems too far away! For now, I'll be doing lots of puppysitting. Thanks for the info on Lancer's siblings, Erin! Cooper, thanks for the feedback. For some reason, the "current pups" page gets messed up on any internet browser besides Mac's safari. Hopefully I'll be able to fix it... thanks for letting me know!

Thanks to everyone for all of your feedback and help!

    and...

Good for you and Don. Looks like he and Fenix went in for Formal Training at about the same time. Good Luck, Don!

  10. I'm excited to hear that your going to keep on raising :)

Yes, Dembre has grown- ALOT! He's now over 60 pounds and really a good dog.

I agree that it's easier to get a dog in the summer. I got Dembre right at the beginning of summer break and had all the time I needed to house break him, work on basic training, and bond. Sadly Dembre will most likely go back for Advanced Training in November '11. I hope to pick up my second pup on the same day that I turn-in Dembre, which means that I will get an 8 week old puppy in the middle of the school year.
